Last Sunday, we joined the Samora church in celebrating its birthday. The day included a special speaker, special music, and their first ever church dinner. Not only was this their first church dinner but our first church dinner in Portugal as well. It was great. We feasted on rice dishes, three kinds of chicken, pork, rabbit, meatballs, lasagna and salad. (We’ll most people ate salad but I maximized this opportunity to have a meatball sandwich made with Portuguese bread plus lasagna!) Of course, no church dinner would be complete without dessert and this church dinner was complete. One of the ladies made a special cake with an important reminder written across it. I’ll leave it to you to use Google translator to translate the writing.
