“The path to your greatest potential is often straight through your greatest fear” – Craig Groeschel
God recently exposed one of my greatest fears to me (see God Is Great, God Is Good…). Now, I am working at overcoming that fear by telling myself truths from God’s Word. Have you ever noticed in the Bible how influential your mind/thinking is in what you believe and the actions you take? Take, for example, Ephesians 4:22-24, “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (See also: Romans 8:5-7; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Ephesians 4:22-24; Philippians 4:8; 1 Peter 1:13; 2 Peter 3:1)
Here is one of the truths I’m focusing on; may it be an encouragement to you too! 2 Timothy 1:7-9, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.
