I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1
I am challenged by the reality that what I do with my body is always worship and therefore, spiritual. I would prefer to think of what I do with my body as being purely physical. The truth is, I worship with my body and many times I worship my body. Not that I have a “great body.” I worship bodily comfort or feelings. Paul challenges me to worship God with my body instead of worshiping physical or emotional pleasures. I am to offer my individual body parts and body as a whole to please him and obey him rather than to please my desires and obey my cravings.
