My Dad, My Youth Pastor?

I’ve looked forward to being in youth group for as long as I can remember.  Next year I’ll finally be old enough to go to PLUG.  Now I heard that my church is looking into getting a new youth pastor.  I always wanted my dad to be my youth pastor.  Everybody loves him and I love him too!  And now after years of waiting, he may not be my youth pastor.

I decided to talk to him about it.  He told me he isn’t sure what will happen.  He also said that while there is a chance I’ll have a different youth pastor, he will always be my dad.  That made me feel better.  Then he told me about Travis French, the kid that helped him start this youth group from  scratch over 15 years ago.  He said that God may allow me to be like Travis and help him start a new youth group from scratch – only in Portugal.

I guess I’m OK with all this.  It’s not my decision anyway.

  1. Aw, becca, this is so sweet! I love that you want to have your dad as your youth pastor- what a blessing to have such a close relationship! 🙂

  2. Becca – I will pray that your Dad will get to be your youth pastor for at least a little bit and that you will be able to work with him in a ministry in the future. Because I believe God wants to give you the desire of your heart!!!

  3. Becca,
God has a plan for you and for your Dad, he may be your youth pastor for a little bit here in America and also in Portugal. May God bless you and your family for your willingness to do what God has asked you to do.
